Clothing
Casual wear is acceptable most of the time but keep in mind that Nicaraguan's take pride in their appearance and commonly wear dress shirts and pants/long skirts. Due to the temperature remaining consistent most of the time, heavy sweaters or jackets will rarely if ever be needed. Long sleeved shirts are recommended for travelers visiting rural or jungle areas due to the biting bugs (usually mosquitoes) found sunrise or sunset.

Credit Cards
All major credit cards are accepted in Nicaragua at most major retailers, but will not be accepted at smaller shops or markets. Bank machines can be found occasionally. If you are using a foreign card at a bank machine, you have the choice of having your funds disbursed in Cordoba’s or US Dollars.

Currency
It is recommended that you arrive in Nicaragua with US Dollars as Travelers Cheques are not widely accepted and ATM's are not easy to find. Nicaragua operates on both the Cordoba and US Dollar, which financial institutions will provide a credible rate of exchange when converting currency, which averages C$ 20 Cordoba’s for every $1.00 US (February 2009).

It is recommended that visitors to Nicaragua obtain traveler's health insurance before leaving their country because health insurance plans often do not extend coverage for services received outside the country of residence. Hospital and medical services in Nicaragua are some of the best in Latin America with the Capital City of Managua recently opening a state of the art modern Health Care facility.
Visitors taking medicine prescribed by a doctor should bring a copy of the prescription, in case it needs to be renewed by a doctor in Nicaragua as well as to avoid delays upon entering or exiting the country.

All Villas are provided with two bottles of fresh water in each bathroom and two in the kitchen every time the room is cleaned.
